As a child, even without paper, I couldn't stop myself from drawing with my finger in the air — that urge remains unchanged.
My encounter with spray paint added physicality and spontaneity to the act of drawing, allowing me to express nostalgia and solitude from my memories in tangible form.

As a child, even without paper, I couldn't stop myself from drawing with my finger in the air — that urge remains unchanged.
My encounter with spray paint added physicality and spontaneity to the act of drawing, allowing me to express nostalgia and solitude from my memories in tangible form.

Honoka Hayashi Graduated from the Department of Information and Media, Faculty of Culture and Arts, Doshisha Women’s College of Liberal Arts.
After working as a product designer for toys and miscellaneous goods, she began her creative career.
Winner of the Special Jury Prize (Masahiro Takahashi Award / Hiroji Yoshida Award) at Independent Tokyo 2022.
Currently working on an Artist Room at Park Hotel Tokyo. Online Sale
July 7 (Mon) 19:00 – July 15 (Tue) 19:00 Artist Statement For me, drawing is an impulse, a record, and the only point of contact I have with others.
As a child, even without paper, I couldn't stop myself from drawing with my finger in the air — that urge remains unchanged.
My encounter with spray paint added physicality and spontaneity to the act of drawing, allowing me to express nostalgia and solitude from my memories in tangible form.
To draw is to affirm my existence, to keep a record, to act outside the rhythms of society — and most importantly, to open a space for dialogue with others. Exhibition Information Solo Exhibition: "Can't be stopped"
