波多腰彩花 | Hatakoshi Ayaka
1995年長野県生まれ。2017年武蔵野美術大学工芸工業デザイン学科陶磁専攻卒業。その後、三重県伊賀市に移り住む。現在は普段の生活の中でふとした時に気づく何気ないものとものと関係性、それらが生む心地よいリズムに着想を得て作品を作っている。

波多腰彩花さんの作り出す作品は陶器でありながら“柔らかく 脆い”ことが特徴です。

低い温度で焼成し、艶やかな表面になるまで手で磨きあげる。
そのため陶器の表面は艶やかな薄い膜となります。
柔らかな曲線が成す形や、はり艶のある表皮はまるで人間の皮膚を思わせます。

構造上、焼成の際に壊れてしまわないよう
空気を逃がす穴がひとつ空いています。植物の気孔であったり、呼吸をするための生き物の器官のように思えてなんとも愛らしいのです。

人間や生きものと同じように
朽ちていくこと。
永遠ではない輝きですが、
その過程もまた
儚く美しいと思えます。

ひとつひとつに名付けられた名も、
とても詩的で
春のあたたかな風のように
ふっと心に染み入るものばかり。

ひとつとして同じ形はありませんから

Hatakoshi Ayaka 
Born in 1995 in Nagano, Japan, Hatakoshi Ayaka graduated in 2017 from the Department of Crafts and Industrial Design, Musashino Art University, where she specialized in ceramics. After graduating, she moved to Iga City, Mie Prefecture, where she currently resides. Her works are inspired by the subtle, often unnoticed relationships between everyday objects, and the comforting rhythms they create in daily life.

Hatakoshi Ayaka 's works are characterized by their "softness and fragility," despite being made of ceramics.
She fires her pieces at low temperatures and polishes them by hand until the surface achieves a glossy, delicate finish. The soft curves and lustrous surface of the pieces are reminiscent of human skin, evoking a sense of fragility and intimacy.
To ensure the structure remains intact during firing, each piece features a small hole to allow air to escape. This detail resembles the pores of plants or the breathing organs of living creatures, lending the pieces a gentle, almost organic presence.
Just like humans and other living beings, these works are subject to decay. Though the radiance of these pieces is not eternal, there is inherent beauty in their process of decay. It is fleeting, yet profoundly beautiful. The impermanence of the works makes them all the more precious, adding a layer of poetry to their form.
The names given to each piece are also deeply poetic, like the warm winds of spring that softly touch the heart.
